FAQ
My Posts Don’t Look Right
- Most likely you tried to cut and paste from Microsoft Word.
- The best place to compose your posts is in the “write” interface of your dashboard. If you don’t finish your post you can always save it as a “draft” by clicking the radio button on the right under “Page Status”. This will allow you to come back and finish it at a later date.
- If you have something you have already typed in Microsoft Word, this is what you should do…
- Open your document and click “file > save as”.
- In the dialog box that comes up choose “plain text (*.txt)” from the “save as type” drop down menu at the bottom of the screen.
- Click “Desktop” from the “Save in” menu at the top of the screen.
- Click the “Save” button at the bottom of the screen.
- Close Microsoft Word.
- Open the document you saved on your desktop by double clicking it’s icon. (It will be named the same as your original document and will end in “.txt”.)
- Select all of the text by pressing “ctrl + A” on your keyboard (or by clicking “edit > select all” at the top of your screen).
- Go to the “write” tab in your wordpress posting area and click in the post composition area.
- Paste your text by pressing “ctrl + V” on your keyboard (or by clicking “edit > paste” at the top of your screen).
- Now you can go through and format your text as you would like.
Trouble Logging in (“enable cookies” message)
Try this first:
- Go to http://wordpress.com
- Press “F5″ on your keyboard to reload page.
- Once page reloads try to log in again on the right hand side underneath where it says, “Already have an account?”.
- If this does not log you in to your dashboard go to next step.
Try this next:
- Go to https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
- Enter your user and email and submit.
- Check your email for a brand new squeeky clean password from Wordpress.com.
- Go to https://rockguild.wordpress.com/wp-login.php and login with your old username and new password.
- If this works click on “My Profile” in the upper right corner of your screen.
- Scroll down to the bottom right side of the page and change your password to whatever you want. It can be the same as the one you had before.
